While short, these stories each pack an astounding depth and incredible detail, harnessing brilliant characters and complex settings to evoke a feeling of growth, satisfaction and reward for the reader.
Although the writing itself is fantastic, and the stories both thought provoking and enjoyable, there is a real joy to be found in this book from the illustrations, bringing to life Roth's vision for the characters and their misadventures in gorgeous fashion. It is a delight to find a story of this genre that is illustrated, and a blissful change from the norm.
